Timing chains are not swapped out as maintenance items, only engines with timing belts. But your vehicle does have the 2.0L engine which has a timing belt. The engine is also an interference engine, which means if the belt breaks, you will have valve damage. So if you have high mileage, over 100K miles, I would replace it now. You said high mileage at 17K in your question, I suspect that is a typo and you meant 170K.
