How can i engage the car in neutral with dead battery?

99 Toyota Corolla has dead battery. How can i put
the transmission in neutral to push it out of the
way? Without the car started the shifter is locked in
park.

As long as the key is in the on position it should allow you to shift like normal.....note that with no power to the engine it will be stiff to turn
