My 1953 Chevy Bel Air turns off when I brake.

If it has power brakes I'd say it's a vacuum leak . Maybe the diaphragm in the booster is bad .
I don't have power brakes still drums all the way around??

My 53 immediately shuts off when I step on
the brake and I have it off the ground on a
lift....
