1969 Pontiac Catalina

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey anyone out there know if I can replace this old rear
differential with any GM differential? Or know of any that
would fit a 69 catalina without major retrofitting?

First ID the type of differential you have. Probably a 10 bolt or 12 bolt diff.

A lot of GM cars used the 10 bolt rear axle. You can probably swap in just the differential if that is the problem. Check the axle spline count so it matches up to the axles you have now.
