Why does my jeep keep dying while I'm driving down the road?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Its a 95 grand cherokee Laredo that u had just bought. Ran
fine all the way home yesterday. I went to work today and it
had stalled several times while driving. I managed to get it
home by riding in a lower gear, (2nd on my shift stick, its an
automatic) I have a suspicion its the fuel filter, but am not
sure. I had just replaced the battery. It has died and came
back to life while I was driving once, but another time I
stalled all together, came to a stop, and it wouldn't turn over
right away. I cant feel a misfire either. But the rpm does
jump around about 200 or so occasionally. There is no
check engine light on.
