Ticking after oil change

so i just got a 2003 hummer h2 engine sounded
great no noises ao i went in and changed the oil to
synthetic 10/30 mobil1 as soon as i started it it
started making a ticking noise maybe like lifter
noise is this normal cause engine had no ticking
before I'm worried did i use the wrong oil should i
use a thicker oil? Can someone tell me what's up
and how can i correct this problem?

That engine is spec'd to use 5W30, so using 10w30 is fine, some use 15W40 on higher mileages. The noise is probably from using the synthetic and the old oil was really old and dirty. Is it at the proper fill level? If it bothers you, you can go back to conventional.
