CarGurus is allowing criminals to use it's website!

Asked by Guru3CPRN Jul 06, 2020 at 10:35 AM

Question type: General

Called a Dealer regarding an advertised car.  The car's advertised price is
$8,500, however by the time you pay for the car the Dealer has jacked up the
price to $12,100.  CarGurus is complicit with this "criminal" Dealer!  Shame on
you!  CarGurus is just as much a "criminal" organization at the Dealer!

Advertised price is just that. Once you add fees taxes and tags, the cost you will be paying is always more. How it is criminal if the dealer tells you outright what the price is? Deceptive, yes. But it has been going on for as long as people have sold things.

Cargurus is an advertising site only similar to Craigslist. What is advertised is the responsibility of the advertiser, not Cargurus. Hope that helps! Jim

People have no idea what is actually criminal or fraud. They think anything they don't like or understand is somehow illegal.
