Car stalls upon acceleration

I have a 1995 Pontiac trans am with
the LT1 everytime I stomp on the gas it
stalls and then that check engine light
comes on and after that it does not do
it no more but the check engine light
stays on what is causing this problem

Since this is a 95 model you could have either an OBD I or OBD II system. Visit your local auto parts store and have them scan the computer. They can tell you which system you have. Hope that helps! Jim
