my dad got a brand new 2006 sonata V6 in september 2005 and still drives it. it just passed 600,000 kms (372,822mi) and honestly hes not even a "car guy" he just changes the oil when the sticker says and just maintains it like a normal person. also he never slams the gas or does impulsive things lol he uses it for transportation not fun and its done its job. im 25 now and also drive a hyundai. 2010 gen coupe and i plan on driving mine like he drove his. those cars are troopers

My 2006 LX V6 has 318,000 on it. It's been an amazing car! Had two Camry's prior ('92 & '99) and while both were great cars, they lasted only a little over 100,000 miles. Go Hyundai.

06 sonata v6 gls. Have 99973 miles on it. That's why I looked this up haha. Replaced my squeaky control arm brushings, a leaking valve cover gasket, and a door handle. That's not bad considering I drive the living s**t out of it when I do drive it. I don't plan on changing my driving, so I don't plan on getting TOO many miles out of it.

2006 Sonata GLS 2.4: 413,000 miles. 2009 Sonata GLS 2.4: 215,000 miles. Except for regular maintenance items and 1 leaking radiator, all original and without issues. Both with continuous Hyundai dealership maintenance according to schedule (usually around $50 per tune up). Our next car if we ever need one? A Hyundai Sonata, preferable the 'old' (NF) one.

2011 Sonata 2.0 has 270,000+ kms. No issues, replaced regular wear items as needed. Did new spark plugs at around 200,000 preemptively. The mechanic said the originals still looked pretty good when I had them replaced. Also did the serpentine belt at around 240,000, again preventive change. I use high mileage oil and have gotten oil changed approximately every 6000 km. Was burning some oil, until I started using Quaker state high mileage, that reduced burn off significantly (the owners manuel (Canadian Manuel)actually calls for Quaker state. Other than that the car has been great, driven it all across US and Canada, even into Mexico once.

Our 2007 Sonata has 285,000 kms. Has original exhaust system. Had brakes replaced once. No issues whatsoever with this car beyond regular oil & tire changes. Best car we ever owned by far. :)

You are driving a lot. I have over 296K but mine is a 2002.

I have a 12' Genesis coupe with 158k miles, I hope it lasts as long as your guys cars considering the 2.0 turbo is based off of the sonatas 2.4.

I have a 2017 Sonata SE 2.4 and just now at 13,000 miles. I like the car very much but I was concerned about the GDI and carbon deposits on the intake valves. So I'm glad to hear that so many Sonata owners are seeing well over 100k miles with no issues.

192,000 never run better - has never even had the spark plugs changed ! Oil changed every 4000 miles ..

BTW - the info is on a 2008 Hyundai Sonata V6

150k and going strong. changed battery, tires, starter that's all. I don't want to get rid of it, but 150k miles.....lol

2013 Sonata has 175,000 miles, minimal issues reseal oil pan, coupler steering prior to recall but reimbursed, all points checks. Using Mobil 1 Synthetic. I have enjoyed the car, ride, fuel mileage, and hope to drive it thru 2019.

I'm looking at a 2004 sonata that was 192,000 miles for just $900. I was feeling a little apprehensive about it but this thread is giving me a lot of hope.

I have a 2008 Sonata ... with 192000 + and it runs as good as it did when new!!!

10

I have a 05 Sonata.. just hit 200,000!! I'm impressed with this car. I've only replaced the timing belt, water pump, battery 2xs, fuel pump & mastercylinder. Along with regular maintenance this car is great!!

Just passed 326,000 on 2011 Sonata Hybrid.. Used for car service. On second tranny (changed at 100,000). Original shocks, motor, just about everything. Gets synthetic oil every 7k. Any comments, suggestions on how to keep going trouble free? I'm thinking new plugs soon..

10

2006 GLS V6 at 288K miles. Original engine, transmission and all accessories things under the hood. Almost identical story to another commenter Squeaky anti roll bar bushing but mechanic didn't say to replace, a leaking valve cover gasket that is fine by me so not fixed, replaced a rear door handle (surprisingly easy), one power window lifter unit (don't try to move frozen windows). Driveability of the engine/transmission is my favorite part of car A kind of noisy front suspension but driving a gravel road every day for past 12 years so kind of expected. I've had a few lower suspension items and a wheel bearing done but don't mind as much since I drive on gravel roads every day. I do oil at 5 to 6 thousand miles. I would re-buy the exact same vehicle again even over newer models/other brands out now. I'm easy on the accelerator/corners/braking but the car still hauls a** if you push the pedal down.
