Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My sister has a renault scenic and it is burning oil when she drives it!! Can anyone suggest what might be the cause of this please
as the garage that she takes it to hasn't got a clue??? Other than that there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it.

oil burns due to problem in piston rings they might be came to en end to protect your car just replaced your piston kit with a standard one and drive slow for 1500 k.m

Is this a petrol or diesel ? If it's a diesel the breather systems on the newer mk2 shape are bloody useless and clog up quite regulary you will need to have it cleared especially the 'recirculation valve' as this controls emissions aswell.
