how driver side rear door will not open with remote. It has the child safety one so cannot open it from inside. Dealership is saying the door handle has to be broke to open in them will need replaced?

Could be broken linkage or the actuator failed, can you hear the motor try to open the lock. But either way the door panel will need to come off and repair.
