how do i know if i need new shocks and struts
the ole foot on the bumper...push down as hard as you can...and should not even bounce once~
Also if they are leaking. If you have over 60-100K miles, they have lost their dampening properties. But fine to drive on. Your call if you want to replace.
No leak or bounce, it does ride rougher than I think it should though. The real issue is a metallic rattle at low speeds on gravel or rough roads
Jack car up so wheel is completely off the ground and try to move it side to side... check your upper and lower control arms. ..
A metallic rattle might indicate a heat shield on your exhaust might be loose.
