1997 Nissan XE PU (manual) won't start

1997 Nissan XE pickup (manual) won't start.  I have replaced the starter (tested
at store) and battery, only getting a clicking (sounds like near the firewall behind
the engine so I'm assuming the starter solenoid).  I swapped the fuel pump and
clutch inhibitor relays with same results.  The truck runs and drives fine if I push
start it.
