I understand that a CX7 requires at least 91 octane because of the turbo. Does anyone know if this requirement can be satisfied by using octane boost that's available in many locations?

Yes it can but you have to be careful, some octane boosters contain MMT and this stuff can reek havoc with injectors, converters, fuel pumps etc. so if you can't get premium top tier fuel use the booster but you should try to get premium fuel when ever possible. Note you will notice a drop in mpg if you don't use premium even with a octane booster, found that out with my Cadillac.
