automatic light did not turn on when it got dark

My car lights did not automatically turn on when it got dark.

Make sure that the automatic portion is turned on, it could have been turned off accidentally. If that checks good then it is a possibility that the light sensor for auto headlights has failed that is located in the upper dash.
