I need to troubleshoot my ignition for a 1975 dodge dart

Asked by Sep 13, 2016 at 09:42 PM about the Dodge Dart

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

sometimes when i turn the key there is no turn over of the engine. However I
can jump the two posts on the starter with a screw driver and the car starts
instantly. It only happens once in a while. It seems like it happens more when
the car is warmed up.

Same thing happened on one of my old Chrysler products, anyway it wound being the ignition switch, sometimes it would make contact to the crank circuit sometimes not, replaced it and problem gone.

Well, it's not a battery, starter or cable issue, all ur doing is bypassing ignition switch and neutral or clutch safety switch, check those 2.
