1994 Mercedes S500 will crank, but not start, what can I do?

94 Mercedes S500 has been setting for a year.  It has a new battery and will crank, but not start.  Could resetting a code help.  If so, how do I do that.  Help, please

If you have codes get those checked first. I would suspect bad fuel. Fuel will good stale if it sits for a long period of time.
