It is electronically incompatible with the 1997 vehicle it will be a nightmare to get it to work.

Yes, the 1991 model is OBD I and the 1997 is OBD II. They're completely different systems that are not compatible with each other at all. Hope that helps! Jim

block could work... you will neeed to swap over your existing electronic engine controls to function.
