I found this online...P2768 - Input/Turbine Speed Sensor 'B' Circuit Intermittent. Read more: http://engine- codes.com/p2768.html#ixzz2IHIhcGqW. However, as a non-mechanic, I have two anecdotal stories to share. I had a similar problem when I had placed the vehicles transmission on neutral too many times within a short period of time. Additionally, a close friend had a similar issue, resulting in serious transmission problems after several years of parking his car on a steep street where he lived and never using the parking break. After years of letting the cars weight rest on the park gear alone he damaged his gear box. Once it fell into gear it would buck slightly as the gear teeth took hold. I'll leave it to the mechanics in the crowd to clarify your issue further.

Well what I got from asp811 is you have a sensor going bad. Have it checked to make sure. You should also have the transmission fluid checked for the correct amount of fluid. It is ten years old. When was the last time you had it serviced? The MBZ cars have a protection mode in the transmissions. If the fluid is low, the sensor will not let the transmission shift out of first or second gear to protect the transmission. My bet would be on the sensor though.
