i was wondering if i could put a v6 engine from an 04 impala ss into a chevelle. please answer
I'm sure you can but it'll take a LOT of doing. The two biggest hurtle would be the electronics involved and the fact that the V6 powertrain would be underpowered in the Chevelle. By today's standards a Chevelle is a big heavy car. The powertrain going into it was not designed for such a heavy load. HTH. -Jim
It shouldn't be a problem if the motor mounts & locations are the same. They might need some welding mods? Depending on the trans used too, it might be shorter, so a longer V6 driveshaft will be needed or stretched. V6's can be modified to make as much hp as V8's, plus save weight! Copy the V8 piston ompression & high perf cam specs, & do cylinder head work, & add tube headers. I saw 300+ hp Chevy V6's they're awesome!
