why my 2006 chevy hhr power steering light stays on and automatic trans.wont shift out of low gear.also speedometer wont work,or outside temp gauge code says it has lost communication with transmissio
I have had it tested at autozone with code reader. It just said oxygen sensor needed
replaced and that it had lost communication with trans. It all started when i installed a
kenwood stereo system
Ok if all of that happened when you put in the stereo you need to take it back out ASAP. Did you use an installation harness or did you cut off the factory plugs and hard wire it the hard way?
Sounds like you disturbed wiring for the trans while installing the stereo. The Oxygen sensor may be at the end of it's life. They usually have a very low voltage output (.3 to .9 VDC) and the precious metal (platinum) wire sometimes begins to fail causing the output to vary
Recall ongoing with GMregarding steering
Michael, my name is Michael too... and we both ducked up aye? Same thing happened to me just now, Car won’t turn over, turning key in ignition completely freaks out all electronics in the car (locks, lights, bell ringing). May i ask how you remedied the situation and how much the cost was? Thank you, I hope you’re somehow still connected to this page..
