i have a 1991 dodge stealth ES automatic, it doesnt shift from 3rd to 4th gear,every time i push on over drive on and off button light comes on but it doesnt work,why?thanks

How long has it been since the fluid and filter were changed?

did you even look at the fluid on the dipstick? it might be burned and/or underfilled...would stop driving until the level is correct....checked hot in park with the engine running (assuming you've got a dipstick)~

sounds like it could be a bad tcm (transmission control module) if you have a CEL scan your car for codes ,,, does it shift fine until/unless you hit the over drive button ? what exactly does it do and when
