car won't go in reverse

I have all the gears I can't get it to into reverse.  The gear won't go over far enough to
shift into reverse.  There was not warning this was going to go, no sound.  It just stopped.  
I just had it in reverse while maneuvering car and when I tried to put in reverse again it
wouldn't go.  My husband thinks maybe a rod feel off???

manual gearbox right? it's possible that your husband is right. The only thing that makes me think otherwise is you said you had ALL other gears. manual gear boxes have 3 link rods from gear lever to gear box, one rod for two gears ie. a rod for R and 1st, another for 2nd and 3rd and another fro 4th and 5th. it's possible that the rod for revers is moving at one end when you try to select the gear but the only way to know for sure is to get under the car and look.

I have Mercedes c220 2012 I can’t get reverse but when I try n get 2nd it’s there but doesn’t go in would tht b a rod issue too? Can u get to fix it under the car or do u need to take the gear knob out too? Thanks David
