C 220 CDI to the US!

Question type: General

SUCH a shame MB is not getting the C 220 CDI to the US!
Currently own my 4th one and still love it as much as the first one I bought in 1995!
170 PS, Top speed of 145 MPH, 45 MPG Plus, all the luxury & comfort in the world, how can this NOT be a winner for the US Market?

Are people in the US really that obnoxious & automatically think b/c this is a 4 cylinder it's underpowered?
Was on the Autobahn on my way home the other night, saw 2 pairs of FASTLY approaching headlights in my rearview mirror.
As the cars came closed I noticed that 1 was a Mustang GT, the other a Camaro Z28, so I moved to the outside lane & guess what.... left both in the dust, so much for being underpowered huh?

Wake up Mercedes US, you are missing the boat here!!

I agree great car with a fuel bill of a ford fiesta and no setback on power eather plus being CDI it has more torque. Problem in the US is more cubic inches the better but a 5.7L comaro has less power than an M3 that has an engine nearly half the size and these low slung V8s in america are quick low down but no power higher up, thats why you saw them off.

How do you get 45mpg? I have averaged only 31.4 over 27000 miles......
