Transfer case

Asked by Jun 15, 2017 at 04:06 PM about the Dodge Ram 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 2001 dodge 1500. The back of
the transfer case is cracked to the point
that it won't hold fluid. It still shifts into 4H
and 4L. Wouldn't that mean the transfer
case is still in tact?

It may mean that the internals are still good, but the case or the transfer case as a unit needs replaced.
