Asked by Mar 06, 2015 at 11:46 AM about the Dodge Ram 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The truck makes a distinct tapping noise like a bad lifter until warmed up. The dealer says they have performed all Chrysler recommended tests and there is nothing wrong with it.  So what is causing this noise.

You are right, weak lifter,or bad oil pressure will cause this issue, the dealer must think it will tap long enuff for your warranty to be void, don,t wait for this, push the subject of the warranty, and that your 2 year old truck should not have any tapping in the engine.
