transmission will not shift into OD
The trans will not shift into overdrive except on very hot day and then only after it has been driven about 30 miles. it
will shift in and out as it should until the truck is stopped and it cools some the it has to be driven for awhile.
Sounds like you probably have a sticky OD push rod... It is the mechanism that engages the overdrive. Have you tried to change the fluid? That could do wonders. It could fix it.
I'm having the same problem with my 01 Durango R/T,I replaced my lockup and OD solenoid because it didn't work at all and now it only kicks in about 20 minutes into a drive,I've also changed my throttle positioning sensor, the sensor on the back of the throttle body I can't remember what it's called looks like a coke or something and speed sensor and nothing is fixing it,could it be the ECM?
