I am questioning if the bearing in my differential is going on my 99 ram 1500?

Asked by May 22, 2015 at 02:57 PM about the Dodge RAM 150

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Only when driving at 40mph and up I am
hearing a vibration/humm and feeling
vibration on the floor bored. Everything on
the engine checks as far as I can tell so I
looked at drive terrain. The rear diff seems
to be over heating and I'm not sure if it's
worth getting into with the short time I've
got.

If the rear differential is running hot then it needs overhauled or it is too low on lube, and if that is the case it may already be too late anyway.
