how would i fix the spark plug thread in the head without having to retap it?

Well once you destroy the treads the only way to fix then is to run a tap to clean then up. Just be sure to use grease on the tap to catch the shavings.

that might work, what about a plug that is slitely bigger with the same threads? larry, i didnt know you were on facebook.
