Alternator

Asked by David Nov 27, 2018 at 08:45 AM about the Dodge Caravan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced my alternator in a 2011
caravan. Now 1 passenger side marker
light stays lit up all the time. Have to
disconnect battery to get it to turn off.
Any clues?

Did you disconnect the negative battery terminal before you replaced the alternator?

Yes, both cables were unhooked. I also installed a brand new battery. Positive cable on first then negative.

Check switch on dash or column and other bulb to see if it is blown. (One not lit)

Is the positive making contact with the negative side of that circuit? Had this in an old Chevy years ago.
