Change from gasoline to diesel

Is a good or bad idea to change from gasoline to diesel a 1991 Chevy
Silverado?

If you are contemplating a diesel engine swap it will be costly and complicated but you will gain a lot of torque. Depending on what engine you swap in the fuel economy might go up.
