2000 chevrolet silverado passenger side not firing
we pulled a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3 single cab 4wd into the garage today with a misfire thought it was plugs but changed em and didn't fix it the whole passenger side head isn't firing or will fire on occasion but has very little power any help greatly appreciated got way to many jobs to get done
Back to basics... check for fuel and spark on the non-firing side. This will narrow it down.
already switched em and checked fuel pressure switched fuel injector and still no change
started it lastnight after repair and it run fine the next day on the way to take it back to the customer passenger side cylinders quit firing again
when running right heat doesn't work when misfiring heat works fine
Check the Catalitic Converter on the side of the missfire. If the CAT on that side is blocked it will cause the down stream oxygen sensor to switch between 200 and 800 mV instead of a steady 450 to 500 mV. The Engine's ECU will register this and to prevent the over fueling of the cylinders on that bank of cylinders the ECU will then switch those injectors off. I had this problem with a F150 in Namibia
