my 85 chevy truck the wheel on drivers side rear will not move in drive but will move in reverse why

Sounds like the brake shoes on that side are stuck on. You'll need to use two flat head screwdrivers to back off the star adjusting wheel. Could also be a stuck parking brake cable holding tention on the shoes like if the parking brake were on. HTH. -Jim
