2002 blazer 4wd not engaging

Asked by Jan 23, 2015 at 07:25 PM about the Chevrolet S-10 Blazer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 blazer that shows its engaging on switch btu it is still in 2wd. I have pulled the cable off the actuator and ran it - replaced actuator and its working properly. The cable is free to move for about 1/4 to 1/2 inch which is not enough. It feels like something inside the diff housing has jammed.. any suggestions?
