96 s10 4.3 vortec will turn over but will not start

my truck will turn over but wont start.. already checked sparkplug and I am getting fire... I can hear fuel pump kick on when I turn the key forward,,,

It's probably the fuel pump. Check for fuel pressure at the intake. Use caution with the vortec. Do not spray anything in the intake to see if it will start that way. It's intake is plastic and if it backfires out the intake you will be replacing it. Blew plastic all over my back yard once when I sprayed fuel in my intake and it backfired. Turned out to be my fuel pump was bad.

fuel pressure regulator is a possibility too. they run at 60psi. The injector wont work below 45psi. Your eyes or ears wont tell the difference so grab a pressure tester

oil pressure sinsor can also keep it from starting
