hi ,i have a1996 S10 ,2.something 5speed.i have a knock sensor cod showing on diognostic i replaced it 50 miles ago engine light still on,what can i do { help and thank you}

The repair you completed di not fix the original issue, so either replace the sensor again or follow thru to the next step in a repair manual. Even new sensors can come thru broken, as myself and others I know have unfortunately purchased 3 new "but broken" from NAPA over the past 10 years. If you don't have a repair manual, you can possibly get one online at www.eBooks.com or at your local library.

The O.B.D 2 system codes are not pin point to problem. It is set up to cover more than one controller or sensor. That being said,you may need to further investigate what else is covered by that code. Example : PO440 is for EVAP system but also could mean purge valve,gas cap or charcoal canister .Last thing is it a 2digit code or 5 digit
