I have a 98 chevy lumina even when the keys are not in the ignition it will ding as if you left the key in.Dones anyone know why this would happen?

There's a tiny switch inside the steering column for this. Sounds like it's stuck. Spray a SMALL amount of WD-40 into the key hole. Then put the key in and out of the key hole several times. Sometimes this will free it up. HTH. -Jim
