How are Chevy Camaro in the snow? (chicago weather)

Asked by Feb 05, 2017 at 01:45 PM about the Chevrolet Camaro

Question type: General

I am currently living in Chicago and the winters here can get pretty bad and I
am looking to purchase a new car, and I was looking at the Camaro.  I know
that it's RWD and those type of car can be pretty bad in the snow and your
tires will spin quite abit.  I not an idiot when driving in the snow I had a FWD
car before (03 Toyota Celica) and I drove it like a grandma when it snow.

So my question how great of the Camaros in the snow?

Mediocre at best. The wide performance tires will be worthless in the snow so get a set of winter tires if you decide to go ahead with the Camero.

This is not the ideal bad weather vehicle. The RWD combined with solid horsepower offers a challenge for handling in ice and snow. Be sure you have a second option in case of bad weather.

Like the others said, not ideal, but if you know how to handle a RWD car in the snow, you might be fine. Just get yourself an extra set of rims and some dedicated winter tires, like Blizzaks. That will increase your changes. But forget about the deep snow, the Camaro has no ground clearance.
