The alarm on my 99camro activates by itself

It may just be very sensitive. The alarm on my 2000 Grand Prix will go off sometimes during a hard rain, a loud clap of thunder, a strong gust of wind, or if a loud motorcycle drives by. See if your owner's manual talks about a sensitivity adjustment. That may help. HTH. -Jim

open the rear hatch. the alarm sensor is by the right rear wheel well. the jack assembly is close to it. ..as i remember it.
