Headlight doors will not go up or down, what might this be?

Asked by Jul 05, 2013 at 01:41 PM about the Chevrolet Camaro

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 68 Camaro, the headlight doors will not fold up or down.  Could this be as simple as a vaccum line?

Could be. You'll need to trace the vacuum lines starting at the intake manifold, then to the headlight switch, and finally to the headlight door actuators. Check out Faxon Auto Literature. They have a website. You'll want to get a 1968 Fisher Body Manual for your car and a shop manual as well. These two books will have diagrams showing the proper hook up for all your vacuum lines.
