Question type: Maintenance & Repair

An emission test failure showed a shift selenoid B needed replaced. I
repaced a new selenoid B ,also using same trans fluid but it still does not
auto shift from 1st, 2nd to 3rd while in drive. What other problems can I
look for and are possible to correct 4160-E transmission.

Did you reset the computer then run the relearn protocol?

After using an OBD II analizer, I removed (service engine soon), then reset the computer. After test riding, the vehicle still does not shift and the (service engine soon) light reappeared. What are other possibilities or suggestions .

So it seems that you can get it to shift manually, is that correct? If so then the problem is in the transmission control unit, you will first have to make sure it is getting the proper signals from the gear selector switch first, if not the switch will have to be replaced before proceeding.
