Looks like your Infinity has 3 catalytic converters. Front, center and rear. Rockauto has all 3 listed. You'll need to know if you have California Emissions. Check the emissions decal under the hood to be sure. If the decal says "C.A.R.B. certified" or "Approved for sale in the state of California" then you have California Emissions. Catalytic converters for a California emissions equipped vehicle are usually more expensive. HTH. -Jim

the car goes about 10 MHP and sputters and misfires. The mechanic can't seem to figure it out for some reason. He's leaning towards that being the problem

If the catalytic converter is clogged it will cause lack of power and possibly overheating because the exhaust system will be restricted. If you have over 100,000 miles on your Infinity I'd suggest a tune up first. If the check engine or service engine soon light is on have the trouble codes pulled. Local auto parts stores like Advance and Autozone will do it for free. Post the codes and we can help further. There are many things that can cause those symptoms. The trouble codes will point us in the right direction. HTH. -Jim
