RX 300 doesn't want to move more than a foot or two

Asked by Jul 11, 2014 at 10:48 AM about the Lexus RX 300

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had the tranny serviced (reputable transmission shop we have used many times) to replace tranny fluid yesterday.  Drove it home (about 12-15 mi altogether) with no problems.  Son replaced oil/filter and air filter at home (couldn't get in with my regular mechanic for that).  We started the car afterwards for a minute or two to get the oil circulating thru the system and then shut it off.  This morning the car doesn't want to move.  HELP!

Is there a puddle of transmission fluid under the car? Check the trans dipstick for proper level.

no puddle and tranny fluid is good

1 out of 1 people think this is helpful.

So either the tranny just gave up or they did something wrong when they serviced it like not making sure the pickup screen was properly attached in the trans oil pan.

this in spite of the fact that it ran OK to come home yesterday?

Regardless, I'd still take it back to the trans shop.

could anything associated with changing the engine oil & filter + air filter have caused this problem?
