Can you use regular unleaded in the the 2000
Your engine is equipped with a knock sensor. This sensor, in a nutshell, detects engine knocking and will automatically adjust timing if you use lower grade gas. Most higher performance cars have knock sensors now. The best is to always follow the recommended fuel that is stated in the owners manual. Also stay away from ethanol gases. These gases have a finite shelf life do partially to the fact that they absorb moisture. Just like the fuel additive you use. Ethanol doesn't care where it gets the moisture ie., from the fuel or from the air. In effect if you use ethanol you don't know how much moisture you are adding to your gas tank.
Thanks for the detailed answer aztec! Just what I didn't want to know but am glad you explained it so well.
