I have a 1994 LexusLS400.I have replaced the alternator and battery. My car will run for along time.but when shut off.takes 20min to crank again

If it just makes a loud click then try this: get it into failure, then try tapping the starter with a small hammer while someone holds the key in the crank position, if it cranks up then you have a bad starter, if it don't then you have to trace down a thermal open in the starter circuit.
