i have a 1996 isuzu trooper should i change the transmission oil and fileter

the car runs fine but it seems as though it drags a little and sometimes I don't hear or feel it shifting

You can try that but it maybe already too late. If this has the tranny I think it has there is no dipstick, so the service procedure is different. You may want to have it done at a place that can service that transmission.
