Year identification on a Saturn SC

Asked by Jul 03, 2014 at 05:01 PM about the Saturn S-Series

Question type: General

I drive a 94' SL2 and have been looking for a similar year SC2, while driving I spotted a
first gen SC. The car was gold (ish) and the only other really distinguishable feature is
that on the rear there was a reflector between the brake lights, and it curved on the
bottom like so:

I couldn't make out whether or not it had any "Twin Cam" badging on it, but if its like
the SL's then the reflector means its a 2. I also believe the curve makes it 95-96 but I'm
not sure. Can anyone confirm what year that would be?

The tenth character of the vehicle identification number will tell you. If it's the letter "R" it's a '94 model. '93 is "P". Q, O, I, and 0 (zero) are not used. HTH. -Jim
