My S90 will not start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My S90 just will not start.  The engine turns over, the starter turns over with a groaning sound.  I got a new battery, no help. It sounds like it's not getting any gas.  Any answers would be appreciated.

Need to down load the fault codes from the OBD2. That will give you a list of the fault codes. Also when was last time timing belt was changed?

There are two reasons for a no start when the battery is good: 1) no fuel or 2) no spark. The more common case is no fuel. To test which one it is, get some starting fluid and spray into the air intake (remove the air filter and spray in the hole). If the car does start, it means a no fuel condition. If it doesn't, then the issue is in the ignition. Can you test and tell us what happens?

It have a full tank of gas could the motor lock up

My 98 S90 Volvo would not start it crank up but then turn off when I crank it again it would not turn over 2 days later I try to start it up again and it started but did not stay started when I turn key again all I hear is clicks but no cranking noise new alternator new starter new radiator new serptine belt and new tensioner pulley help me figure out problem please!!!
