Is there a way to find out how long a used car has been on lot and if you ask do they have to tell you the truth? Also, how much below asking price should you pay, looking at Jeep Wranglers. Thank you!
There are several things that fall under the Federal Disclosure Act and Truth-In Lending Act about what must be disclosed when you buy or are potentially buying a car, such as if it is salvaged, (totaled by the definition of insurance company and repaired anyway), truth in mileage, but unfortunately I could find nothing about how long a vehicle has been for sale. So, I guess they don't have to tell the truth. "Oh, this baby just got here and won't last long at this price. Let's go in to my office and do the paperwork...." before you can ask diddly. GET A CARFAX, iy will tell you how many owners, last date of sale, and other things. CHECK THE VIN on the car fax vs. vehicle to make sure the salesman isn't trying to pull a fast one on you. Good Luck
