Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Its not in the oil so its not an internal head gasket and its not leaking on the ground but you can smell it when its been running for awhile although the vehicle does not overhead

It is a head gasket - Its going into the combustion chamber and out the tail pipe

Start the engine, leave it running, and hold a paper towel/ cloth behind the exhaust for a minute. This will tell you if you are burning any oil or anti-freeze. If you're anti-freeze, the exhaust will have a slightly sweet smell. Good luck, hope it's not the head gasket!

I was told by a mechanic that it is probably the intake gasket but not sure how to tell if that is true or not
